Jennifer Young graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the University of Connecticut in May 2013. She currently works both as a self employed artist creating commissioned pieces for clients and as a part-time social painting instructor.

Throughout her work - both personal and professional - she is always seeking out innovative ways of capturing and expressing her subjects. To that end, she often experiments with her material choices in her work. Considering material selection to be an essential part of her process, she frequently incorporates unexpected media into her traditional paintings and creates original paintbrushes, textures, and patterns from scanned or photographed objects for her digital paintings.
